|
Jon Hainer was a commercial lender for 24 years. He originated loans involving middle market to Fortune 50 firms in a broad variety of industries and transaction types. His time in finance was with three of the world's top domestic/international banks. His duties included managing a multi-billion dollar portfolio, supervision of business development and commercial lending activities for the western U.S. , management of credit analysis and loan administration departments, and point person for interaction with foreign head office personnel.
Jon Hainer developed the Gold Standard loan review which has been extremely well received by the examiners. He is also an independent consultant for several banking law firms and is admitted as an expert witness in finance and forensic accounting by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court and the Superior Court of L. A.
Jon Hainer and Marta Stern co-authored the Commercial Loan Review and Audit Manual, published by Sheshunoff Information Services. He consults with credit professionals on sophisticated underwriting, risk management, and stress testing processes and policies.
Jon received his MBA from UCLA's Anderson School after graduating cum laude in economics from Lawrence University. |

Marta Stern is the managing partner of Stern & Associates, L.L.C. The firm has provided expert consulting services to California 's financial institutions since 1990. Stern & Associates specializes in commercial loan reviews which reflect regulatory trends, as well as due diligence exams for bank sales and mergers, customized policies and procedures, and compliance and risk management programs. Ms. Stern pioneered award-winning financial literacy programs in the 1990s that still meet CRA tests. Marta has many years of experience in banking law and regulatory compliance, and has served as vice president, compliance officer and as board secretary at two mid-sized financial institutions.
Marta has written articles for the Compliance Magazine published by the American Bankers Association. For ten years, she authored a bi-monthly newsletter, Compliance in a Nutshell, which was a must-read for hundreds of busy bankers. Marta Stern and Jon Hainer co-authored the Commercial Loan Review and Audit Manual published by Sheshunoff in 2005, now in its third edition. This writing team is now working on a new Commercial Loan Review Training and Certification Manual for Sheshunoff.
Ms. Stern and Mr. Hainer are also presenting Pratt & Co.'s nationwide audio seminars for bankers on the global stress testing requirements mandated by the Basel Committee. |
